GIVE THANKS UNTO THEE

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:”-Psalms 92:1 (King James Version)
Do you thank God for all the blessings that you have? Do you thank God for the problems and hardships that you encounter? Do you thank God for all his loving kindness? Do you ever thank Him?
The PNK (Pasalamat ng Katawan) or the International Thanksgiving was a quarterly three-day celebration of the Members Church of God International that held at Apalit, Pampanga. Last September 27, 28, and 29, 2013, the church held its third quarter of Thanksgiving.
Even though the brethren encounter so many hardships in life, they are very thankful because God do not leave them alone.
Thanks be to God for all Thy kindness. In time of ups and downs. In times of success and failures. We must “Give Thanks unto Thee”. . . Thanks be to God!

FIRST CLICK OF THE FIRST TIMERS

An exciting, an enjoying, and a knowledge gaining activity that the second year scholars of La Verdad Christian College had experienced last 13th and 20th day of September on the year of 2013.
The students were filled with excitement, enjoyment and knowledge when they had their photo walk at Intramuros. Even though they do not have cameras by their own, it was not a hindrance for them to get a shot. Thanks for the help of the Photoville International members for letting the students use their personal cameras.
While roaming around Intramuros, they are looking for their best shots for their final exam, which is the photo exhibit that they are planning to do. They apply what they have learned in their photography class with their instructor, Dominic Meily.
At the end of the day, you can see in their faces that although they became tired, they are still happy and learned a lot from the activity that they held.

The episodes were all about certain issues that concern the society. And these issues will be analyzed and explained by Brother Eli Soriano, based on the Bible. The scholars from La Verdad Christian College will dramatize and will be the voices of the story that came from the letter sender who seeks a Biblical answer to his/her problem.
Compared to the other radio programs, this program, Dear Kuya was only one of its kind, Biblical-based and very sensible program all over the radio.

Reception and Study Center for Children
February 20, 2013 when the Mass Communication Technology 12 of La Verdad Christian College went to visit the Reception and Study Center for Children with the care of DSWD.
It was their midterm exam according to their instructor, Mr. Jensen Sobrejuanite. They organized the event with themselves alone. Everyone was so busy with their assigned task. From the program planning up to the main event, they were all so busy. It was very heart touching when they came to the place and the little children run and hug them. You can see the little children running, roaming, laughing and playing around. They are very innocent. They are very lovable. Most of the students took care of the children and some other worked with their tasks. They were very busy doing, taking care, and organizing such things.
It was a great and an overwhelming day for the students who created, organized, and participated the event. As the day end, everyone bid a goodbye to the little children and they left them with a smile on their lips. Everyone is hoping that someday, they would have another time to visit there. It was fun, inspiring, overwhelming, great, and a very productive day for the students of Mass Communication Technology of La Verdad Christian College. As they have learned to Brother Eli Soriano and Kuya Daniel Razon, if there is an opportunity to do good, do it.

CL Week (Featuring Poster Making Contest)
LaVerdad Christian College held its very first CL Week last January 28 to February 1, 2013 with its theme “Beneficial Inspiring Biblical Learning Experience (B.I.B.L.E)”. Everyone was so busy preparing for their winning piece. The third year students (AB Broadcasting) were the organizer of the said event.
Each section has their representatives for every category, Bible Preaching, Bible Quiz Bee, Our Modest GAYAK (OMG), Chorale, Christian Dance, Photo Making Contest, ASOP, and of course, Poster Making Contest. In Poster Making Contest, each section has its two representatives. Contestants had to interpret the theme with their artistic skills. Everyone was so determined to win. But, there are only three to be declared the best. Julius Paranal of MCT11 got the second place. Joemer delos Santos of the same section got the first place. And the champion, came from the MCT12, Jack Lord Suzon.
All of the contestants were good. They had shown their talents and skills. All of the students of course, had a very great time and had a “Biblical Inspirational Biblical Learning Experience” because of the said activity, which is the CL Week. Thanks be to God for His mercy and grace for helping the activity successful!

Why Am I Here in La Verdad Christian College?
It is God’s will that’s why I am here. I really did not expect. At first, I cannot decide what school and what course I should take. It was so difficult for me.
I took the PUPCET and I chose my wanted course, Architecture. With God’s help, I passed. But we have a major problem. The financial problem. Although I passed the exam, my parents cannot support the expenses. That is why I cannot pursue my wanted course. So we tried to inquire in La Verdad Christian College at Apalit, Pampanga. I submitted my requirements. Then we also inquire here in La Verdad Christian College Caloocan. My first choice was really PUP, then the second one was La Verdad Apalit, then La Verdad Caloocan was the last. I was not able to take the exam at La Verdad Caloocan. I do not know what happen why I received a message that I have to come back at La Verdad Caloocan for the interview. I do not really expect that. Then when the day comes for the scheduled exam for La Verdad Apalit. I did not take it anymore. Because I already passed here in La Verdad Caloocan. And one thing, the day that I have to take my exam was the day that I was baptized.
I can really say God planned it all and it was all His will that is why I am here. I am just thanking Him for his loving kindness and for not leaving me specially us. Because without Him, maybe I am not here in my place now. Thanks be to God and To God Be The Glory!

movie

Fiddler on the roof was a film adaptation of a broadway who has it’s the same name and theme.
It is all about Tevye a milkman, just a poorman who has a lame horse and his five daughters who has their matchmaked husband to be by the matchmaker to marry but they refused to it. They find ways to break their old Jewish tradition and to choose by themselves who they want to marry. The best part of the film was when Yente the matchmaker told Tzeitel that she will going to marry Lazar Wolf a wealthy butcher. Then Tevye, as a father of course, he knows that his daughter loves other man who is Motel Kamzoil find a way to let his daughter marry the one she loves. Therefore, he made a story and he repeats it to Golde, his wife, that he had a dream that that Golde's deceased Grandmother whose name is Tzeitel told him that Tzeitel is supposed to marry Motel, as it was decided in heaven. Also in the nightmare, Lazar Wolf's late wife, Fruma-Sarah, warns Tevye that if Tzeitel marries Lazar, she will kill Tzeitel after three weeks of marriage. Golde concludes that the dream was a message to be followed from their ancestors, and Tzeitel and Motel arrange to be married.
At the end, it shows that even though Tevye will going to leave his town, his tradition will always be with him.

song

Like a wave in the sea
Like the weeds in the field
Driven by the wind
Never know where I should be
Then you came and took my hand
Like a father to his child
In every step of the way
You are here by my side
Refrain:
No words can say how great you are, O God
Chorus:
For day by day, I travel in this journey
You walk me through and give rest to my soul
Singing praises in eternity, my heart and soul desires to be
My destiny in this Journey
Didn’t know where to stand
On this hungry land
For everywhere I find
People walking blind
If they only realize
Just how much You care
They would gather here
To serve You Lord, our Dear
Refrain 2:
And feel the power, Your words have to reveal
(repeat chorus)
Bridge:
Of many billion people in the dark and troubled world
You make us see Your mysteries unfold
Now we praise You in the East
All the way to where the sunsets
Your righteousness let all the nations see
(repeat the chorus except the last line)
My Destiny. . . .
Singing praises in eternity, my heart and soul desires to be
My destiny in this Journey
Coda:
My destiny in this journey
Lord guide me
In this journey

Journey
This song is composed by Jay Alvin Consigo, arranged by Albert Tamayo, and interpreted by Roselle Nava. This was an entry for the ASOP Grand Finals for the year 2011.
As we analyze the song, the writer has his journey in his life. At the first stanza, he is comparing his life or himself to a wave and to the weeds that were driven by the wind and without knowing where he should be. Until at the second stanza has shown that there is someone who took his hand just like a father taking his child and guiding him in his every steps he made. In the chorus part, he states that he has his Guide in his every journey. As we see the third stanza, he is describing this world as a hungry land and everywhere he finds, people are walking blind. At the fourth, he is making us realize that there is God that cares for us and we have to serve Him. At the bridge, he states that in spite of billions of people in this dark and troubled world, He make us see the mysteries unfold. So His servants in the east up to the way where the sunsets, are praising Him because of His righteousness.
This song was made by a writer who is describing his journey in his life without knowing at first where he stand until there came  who took his hands and guide him with his journey in this dark and troubled world and with those people who are blind. Thanks Be To God!
